Project Certification FAQs

The CAPM® (Certified Associate in Project Management) is an entry-level credential designed for project team members or newcomers who lack extensive project management experience. The PMP® (Project Management Professional) requires at least 36 to 60 months of verified professional project leadership experience, certifying advanced skill set execution.
While MS Project is ideal for desktop and mid-sized corporate projects, Oracle Primavera P6 is built specifically for massive, multi-tiered mega-projects (e.g., oil & gas, civil construction, manufacturing) requiring complex multi-user resource allocation, critical path analysis, and enterprise baselining.
PMI-RMP (Risk Management Professional) equips project managers with structured quantitative and qualitative risk assessments (Monte Carlo analysis, Decision Tree modeling). It enables leaders to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks before budget or schedule slippage occurs.
PgMP® requires candidates with a secondary degree to have 84 months of project management experience along with 84 months of program management experience within the last 15 years. For bachelor's degree holders, 48 months of project management and 48 months of program management experience are required.
